Ingredients

  • 3 cups berry-flavored yogurt (such as blueberry, raspberry, or mixed berry)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or honey (adjust sweetness to your preference)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
  • Fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Ingredients
    In a large bowl, combine the berry-flavored yogurt, sugar or honey, and vanilla extract if using. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Prepare for Freezing
    Pour the yogurt mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container. Spreading the mixture in a shallow container helps it freeze evenly.
  3. Freeze and Stir the Mixture
    Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap. Freeze for about 1 hour, then remove it from the freezer and stir it vigorously with a fork, breaking up any frozen sections. This process helps to create a creamier texture by breaking up ice crystals.
  4. Stir and Repeat the Freezing Process
    Return the container to the freezer. Repeat the stirring process every 30 minutes for about 2 to 3 hours, until the frozen yogurt is creamy and firm.
  5. Serve
    Once the frozen yogurt reaches the desired consistency, scoop it into serving bowls. Garnish with fresh berries if desired.
  6. Storage
    If not serving immediately, keep the frozen yogurt in the freezer. For best texture, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping if it has hardened.
